Where 020 reaches.
020 is the code for most of Greater London, from the City out to the outer boroughs. Numbers look like 020 7946 0123.

- Barnet
020 replaced London's 0171 (inner) and 0181 (outer) codes in the Big Number Change, which ran from 1999 until the old codes closed in April 2000. Every London number now shares 020, followed by an eight-digit local number usually starting 7, 8 or 3.
Phone exchange areas don't follow council boundaries exactly, so a few places near the edges use a different code.
Example: A locksmith covering south London
One 020 number on the van and the website. Calls ring the two locksmiths in order: if the first is on a job and doesn't answer in 20 seconds, the second phone rings. Out of hours the number still rings the on-call mobile, and anything missed becomes a transcribed voicemail.
