An 0131 number gives an Edinburgh business a local line that follows you, not a desk.
£7.50 a month + VAT · Unlimited forwarding · No contract
0131 covers Edinburgh and the towns just beyond the city. Numbers look like 0131 496 0123.
Edinburgh's code became 0131 on PhONEday, 16 April 1995, replacing 031. Local numbers after 0131 are seven digits.
Phone exchange areas don't follow council boundaries exactly, so a few places near the edges use a different code.
Guests and owners call the same 0131 number. A call menu sends guests (press 1) to whoever is on call that week and owners (press 2) to the office. Hours change with the season, and the greeting is a recording uploaded as an MP3.
Every number, including your 0131 one, comes with unlimited forwarding, ring groups, a call menu, opening hours, call screening and voicemail to email for £7.50 a month. See every feature.
No. 0131 is an ordinary UK geographic number, so callers pay the same as for any other landline call, and most UK mobile and landline plans include those calls.
